Let’s just pretend we have enough money to buy ourselves a travel bag for around 300 bucks. We’d most definitely wrap our little hands around this vintage-inspired Travel Bag.

Made from durable 100% wool, we love the tartan print, leather handles, and overall classic look. We’re thinking a weekend away is in order. Available at uscheckout.apc.fr for only $290

Glamming up an everyday staple makes something otherwise ordinary damn near irresistible to us. Doing it in five different color combos? Well that’s just cruel. How are we supposed to pick which lovely Deux Lux Felix Satchel  is right for us? Navy with graphite sequins? Olive with gold sequins?

What’s a girl to do?! We’ve decided to just ask for one for Christmas and let the gift giver decide. Available at deuxlux.com for only $86

If you are looking to invest on a winter bag, here’s an option. This bag looks large, sturdy, and completely girly with the grey, blue, and pink tweed topped off with a leather flower corsage. And though we’ve seen plenty of carpet bags, this is the first “doctor style” purse we’ve come across. We’ll just hope no one mistakes us for women of medicine. We’re not exactly the type to react in a calm and cool manner if someone passes out in the subway.

Obsessed with finding a bag that’s the absolute perfect size? This Wang design fits that description to a T. On the average day, you may carry your keys with a card holder attached, phone and iPod, at least one pair of sunglasses, a mini umbrella and a flat billfold. And at 10 inches wide, all of that stuff would fit in this little bag comfortably. It’s a tad boxy, but not unattractively so, and that gives it the depth necessary to carry more than keys and a phone. Put this little crossbody at the top of your  list for fall. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $680.

This is the perfect bag for a long weekend; the three large main compartments keep you much more organized than a traditional duffel or weekender bag. You have one for your regular clothes, one for pajamas, underwear and toiletries and the last for your laptop, Kindle, and all the various modes of entertainment with which you might travel and their attendant cords and chargers.

The bag also has large exterior pockets on both the front and back, one of which has a zippered opening in the bottom to allow it to be slipped over the extended handle of a rolling suitcase, a trick which I’ve used several times and which works very well. As if that weren’t enough, it also comes with a little pouch that contains a collapsable nylon tote bag, just in case you need it. The construction of the bag is quite sturdy and LeSportsac’s famous patterns keep the company’s bags from showing wear, even after a trip through the world’s bleakest bus terminal. Buy through Zappos for $144.

The dusty teal lizard accented with tortoise shell gussets and weathered brass hardware looks like nothing else on the market right now, and the combination is beautiful in a subtle, restrained, well-edited way that’s genuinely hard to come by.

Naturally, the color palette gives this piece a retro feel, but that’s part of its success. Almost all clutches go for shine, whether it be through polished hardware, beading and rhinestones or fabric that has an inherent sheen to it. This clutch goes in the exact opposite direction and feels completely fresh as a result. Buy through Matches fo$2,131.

There is something quintessentially perfect about a deep brown leather bag as the weather cools down. Cream, camel, and brown tones look both classic and fashionable. I imagine carrying the brown calf version and pairing it with the perfect wide leg pant and button up blouse. Simplicity in color and style leaves you with a stand-out outfit.

The Liaison bag draws attention because of its glossy resin bar at the closure along with the top handle. The design comes in both a small and large size, both of which are available in a variety of materials and colors. I also love the dimensionality that printed crocodile brings to an otherwise simple bag. Small for $2495 and large printed for $2595 via Donna Karan online

The Bottega Veneta Large Hobo Bag has exactly the functional structure and traditional intrecciato leather that we’ve come to expect from the Italian accessories powerhouse, but that color. That color. Can you tell I’m ready for the weather to cool down, like, immediately?

This bag probably falls somewhere in the spectrum of “brown,” and I’ve made my feelings about brown bags known around these parts. I generally don’t tolerate them, but this rich shade of brown has so many wonderful orange and red undertones that I don’t know how it’d be possible to dislike it. On top of that, since the bag is Bottega, you know it’s going to be one of the softest things you’ve ever had in your hot little hands. Now where’s that crisp morning chill that I ordered to go with it? Buy through Saks for $3250.

If you have the heart of a little girl and the budget of a big mama, go ahead and indulge in this Isabella Fiore Disney Snow White Satchel Handbag ($220). Fill it up with poison apples and throw them at anyone who makes fun of you. You’ll have a smug look on your face because you know you’re going home to your Happy, Bashful Doc(tor) boyfriend and they’re probably going home to some Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleepy dude. Available at styleaddiction.com at $219.99

The Kitty satchel is big and soft, almost like a really luxe weekender, most notable the gold pushlocks that will always remind us of Marc Jacobs, no matter how many other designers use them.

Kitty satchel is a very versatile bag because of its color, where you can use them on whatever functions you go to plus it has a crossbody strap which you can use for travelling. Available at Bloomingdales at $1350
